Such a busy week around here. Thats my excuse for no blogging. Things are only about to get more hectic soon. Since I am leaving in the AM tomorrow morning to start the trek to Minneapolis.

Today is the big wedding that I came home for. It should be a good time, I'll get to see a lot of my friends that I don't get to see much anymore. I'm not a big fan of dressing up though. I had to go out the other night and force myself to by some nice dress pants, or as I like to call them, slacks. Or maybe, trousers? It's part of my plan now to eliminate the word, pants, altogether. It's slacks or trousers from now on. (Happy JJ?) There is a chance, I don't know how big of a chance, but there is a chance that after the wedding tonight, we might all go and see Dee Snider perform. That's right. Dee Snider, as in Twisted Sister. Actually, I found out some strange news last night, that supposedly The Dismemberment Plan is playing in Richmond tonight. The wierd part is though, the place they are supposedly playing is this fancy restaurant downtown. Does that make any sense? No, it doesn't. I need to look into that.

What a week this has been. Prepare for insane mode.

Todays celebrity birthday, Bruce Campbell is 44.

I have been neglecting the blogger lately. Not on purpose though, mind you. My cable modem decided to take a fat steamy dump over the weekend, so getting online was an adventure. But all is well in cable modem land again.

Making all of the last minute preparations for heading to Minneapolis. It will be the first time making the trip by car. Fun fun. Get to stop at my sisters house in Michigan for the night to split up the drive a little. So i get to enjoy the best pizza on earth, Volcano Pizza. Take that fellow MCSers! I also get to see my insane niece and nephew which I am happy about. And its all happening this SUNDAY, SUNDAY, SUNDAY!!!!

I will write more late, I'm doing too much at the same time. I can't handle it.

Todays celebrity birthday, Mia Sara is 35.

Just past two in the morning. My legs hurt from running around Lake Calhoun = 3 1/2 miles. I'm trying to not be fat. It's a funny thing because i am skinny everywhere except my belly. It has to go, although i will miss it. It's kinda cute. So i'm told. I can't sleep again. Nothing new. I don't have much to say, even though i feel i should.

I am looking forward to seeing the movie Lilo and Stitch. Damn that thing is fucking cute. On my trip to Chicago i got a toy at Mc Donalds that is Stitch with a guitar on a surfboard while dressed up like Elvis. It has a spring in it's waist that makes it dance like Elvis too. Holy shit. That is so cute it makes you wanna puke. Cute puke. (not in your car Tony)

Tony comes here in less than a week. Weeeeeeeeeee! Practice Practice Practice. Fun Fun Fun. Songs Songs Songs.

My friend Jason Dickman is working on our new site and i got a peek at it today. Oh yeah, it's all good. I can't wait until it launches.

That's all i can squeeze out for now. Goodnight all.

Flambe'd Pears

3 tablespoons butter
1 cup sugar
2 pounds cooking pears, cored and sliced 1/4-inch thick
Splash Poire William Brandy
16 slices pound cake (1/4-inch thick)
8 scoops of ice cream
1 cup spiced or candied pecans
Confectioners' sugar

In a large sauti pan, over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the sugar. Using a wooden spoon, stir the sugar until it dissolves. Continue to stir until the sugar starts to turn a caramel color, about 4 to 6 minutes.

Add the pears and a pinch of salt. Continue to saute for 4 minutes. Remove the pan from the heat and carefully add the brandy. Place the pan back over the heat and with an electric kitchen torch, flame the pears. Shake the pan back and fourth several times until the flame dies out. Place a scoop of ice cream between two slices of the pound cake, forming a sandwich.

To serve, place the ice cream sandwiches in the center of each serving plate. Spoon the pears over the sandwiches. Garnish with the pecans and sugar.

Friendship test.

Over and out.

today i watched monster's ball. it was awesome. the previews looked horrible but everyone said it was good. i rented it, knowing i'd probably like it, but never feeling "in the mood". i forced myself to watch it and it truly was much better than the previews made it out to be. after that josh called and we ran to mr. pinski's (i hope i spelled his name right) and picked up our newly mastered cd. it sounds delicious from where i'm standing. i hung out with my folks and family and tested out my new digital video camera. technology is something else. feeling a bit tired, but then again, aren't we all?
