So, it is settled. I, Tony Thaxton, will be seeing Star Wars: Episode II: Attack of the Clones, before anyone else in MCS. I just wanted to go ahead and repeat that. Not that it is a big deal, I'll be seeing the second half of the movie by the time Josh and Jesse start it. Big whoop. I just have to rub it in. Rub rub.
So "Macarena" is the biggest one hit wonder of all time according to VH1. It's surprising, but I predicted that it was number one. Anyone else watch these shows? I love VH1 shows. They are great for my pointless knowledge, of which I have a fountain. Some of my favorite one hit wonders...
"The Safety Dance" Men Without Hats
"Turning Japanese" The Vapors
"I'm Gonna Be(500 Miles) The Proclaimers
"The Super Bowl Shuffle" The Chicago Bears Shufflin' Crew...which somehow failed to make the list.
Alright, I am off to the Squat n' Gobble.

so i just had put up a blogg that said this whole thing that we get to see the movie before tony does becouse of the time difference. i was like in your face ace. but as jesse soon pointed out to me i was wrong it is us that gets to see it later . i took it down in shame. oh well i guess in my face ace
Yes, Tony, Star Wars tickets have been purchased by the minneapolis squadron of Motion City Soundtrack. Me, Josh, Ellen, and Jill will be enjoying Episode II at 12:01am.
In a side note, i am watching Crocodile Dundee right now. Fine, fine cinema at it's best. Then later i am getting a much needed hair cut, going to an art opening, and finishing off the night by seeing The Good Life and Bright Eyes play. I'm a busy man, but let me know your schedual and i'll pencil you in. Blah.
SQUAT N' GOBBLE?!?!?!?! SQUAT N' GOBBLE?!?!?! That is by far the greatest thing I have ever heard in my life. I want to eat at the Squat n' Gobble...NOW!
Have you fellow nerds gotten your Star Wars tickets yet? I bought mine last night. Myself and 3 good friends will be taking in the 12:01am showing next wednesday night. Aw yeah. I'm getting ridiculously excited about seeing this movie. The trailers look great and the reviews have ben pretty positive. All you naysayers think it will suck because of The Phantom Menace. I will not have it! Supposedly, this movie is a huge improvement. 5 more days!

Well i just watched a movie called "A Perfect World" and i actually liked it. It stars Kevin Costner (i know, i know) he was surprisingly good. Clint Eastwood also starred in, and directed it. The point of this whole story is to tell the world about the name of a restaraunt that is in the movie called (Tony, this one's for you) "Dottie's Squat 'n' Gobble" Damn, if i were rich i would open a Krispy Kreme and a Jesse's Squat 'n' Gobble right next to each other and get fat, fat, fat.

i really am in disbelief that will ferrell is leaving SNL, who we take up his crown as "the funny king" .
in other news we were just faking that show to make tony come out here and hang out cause we all miss him. So i am bored at home waiting for 2 when i get to go to work. yeah!. i was looking around on the internet today and saw that cadillac blindside has a new web page and is doing some touring before their new record comes out (which kicks so much ass). So if your lame and sitting at your computer with nothing to do go check them out. any way i need to run to the post office to get some things in the mail. so i am out.
Will Ferrell is leaving. It just won't be the same. I think we might have a big Ferrell Farewell on the night of the 18th.
What a day I had today. Let me tell you a little short back-story first. I found out yesterday that MCS has a couple of big shows coming up, so I have to get back to Minneapolis, and soon. So I promptly started looking at airfares. Well, today I found a great price on Priceline, so I had to get it. Well, just about two hours after I booked the flight we found out there was some miscommunication, and one of our shows is only tentative. Hopefully, it will come through. Wish us luck. So I have a flight booked, but we don't even know if we have all of the shows we thought we did. Ah well, what can you do? Right? So then, AFTER I found all of this out, i get an offer to play a gig in Norfolk, VA with Rockbot that would pay me some decent cash, not to mention be a lot of fun. And I could REALLY use the cash right now. And its the same night as my plane leaves. Also taking place that night, the Ultimate Fakebook and Schatzi show in Richmond. What a wierd day. Ugh. So wish me luck that everything works out right! Please?!?!
What a day. Trust me, to me, it is stressful. But hopefully, one week from right now, I will be watching Star Wars.

Sweet merciful crap! First of all, for anyone who enjoys real rock, and not the sissy crap we play, check out this for an interview with Mr. Rock N Roll, Andrew W.K.
And now go set your VCRs. May 18th will be Will Ferrels last hurrah on SNL. Hes leaving to do movies (gasp!). Look for him as Mustafa in Goldmember.
So last night I witnessed the rock explosion that is the Ex Models. Pure insanity. If you haven't heard these guys yet, and you like insane rock and roll, check them out. They are on tour right now with The Seconds. Check out www.exmodels.org. And some darn nice fellers to boot. During the day I took in a screening of Spiderman. I enjoyed it. I didn't hate it, I didn't love it. I was entertained, that's all I ask for. I didn't care much for the Green Goblin though. I didn't like the way he acted or looked. I thought he could have been better. That was my main complaint. It's alright though, nine days until Star Wars.
So it looks as though I will be heading back to Minneapolis even sooner than expected. We have a few shows for late May/early June in the works. We will fill you all in as soon as we know everything. We will possibly spend some of that time writing some new material too. Something which we are all excited about doing. So who wants to drive me to MN? We can make this a contest...

Todays celebrity birthday, Kurt Loder is 57?!?!?!?! Holy crap! I never would have guessed he was that old. So, Kurt Loder is older than my parents. Is that really wierd to anyone else?
holy poo, i'm back. i've got a new password and i hope i don't forget it.
yesterday was the most productive day so far this month. i spent the early morning hours at spyhouse writing a treatment for a short film i soon plan to shoot (yeah right), and then hung out with jesse "quickfingers" johnson at his abode. i visited josh "i'm the man" cain at twin town and picked up a guitar i really think i'm gonna buy. next i made my friend holly "i just got hit by another car while riding my bike" edmundson get off her ass and go rent movies and chocolate. actually we purchased the chocolate. but we did rent some fantastic movies: made, the slums of beverly hills, joyride, and j and silent bob... we watched joyride since that was the only one i hadn't seen. afterwards we walked around loring park and saw a guy pissing on a dumpster. we even caught a glimpse of his penis. it was huge. we drank some coffee at a place i can't spell the name of, so in order to appear as though i'm smarter than i really am, i'll refrain from atempting to type it. later josh and i reunited and wrote some songs. i then hung out with my friend matt "my humor will never be appreciated in this lifetime" thompson. we went to the dinkytowner and i watched people drink beer. i had a coke. it was delicious. today i am at work and hardly working.
my latest obsession: dinner for five.
I just returned home from seeing the wonderful Peru rock show. My good friends played at Hole in the Wall in Richmond tonight. Always a good time. I got to see some good friends that I hadn't seen since my returning home from tour. Always a good thing. I got invited along to go and see Spiderman tomorrow. I almost saw it last night, but to no surprise, it was sold out. So perhaps tomorrow. I also got asked to play drums on another recording. Fun fun. The only downside, my DW drums are trapped in Minneapolis while I still live here. Not to fear, there are other drums. But damn they aren't my DW's. Oh well. What can you do?
I have two new obsessions, old Eddie Murphy and Night Ranger.
